UPDATE 9/18/2020
Safety precautions remain in place at all locations in the Portland Metro Area.
Following closures due to air quality conditions, we will be open 10-6 7 days a week through September 2020.
Face masks are mandatory and 6 ft. physical distancing is required.
UPDATE: 3/20/20 7:06pm
Due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, ReStores in the Portland Metro Area will temporarily close effective 6pm, March 20. That includes ReStore locations in Portland, Beaverton and Vancouver. The Gresham ReStore closed March 16.
Residential donation pickups will also be canceled until further notice. Donors will be contacted.
We have made this difficult decision out of concern for the health and safety of our customers, donors, volunteers and staff. We want to do our part to reduce their risk of exposure to the coronavirus, and reinforce healthy communities.
We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19, and keep you informed of developments as it pertains to reopening our stores. In the time being, we will be exploring alternative options to provide deeply discounted home improvement products that will allow us to continue to support our mission to build affordable Habitat homes. In the future, look for the possibility of new online sales features and the resumption of free business donation pickups.
Please stay tuned, and check for updates on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and at pdxrestore.org.
Thank you for your continued support of Habitat for Humanity through the Portland Metro ReStores. We will miss you.
UPDATE: 3/18/2020 5:30pm –
The Habitat for Humanity ReStores and Vancouver Habitat Store has temporarily suspended all volunteer efforts through the month of April. The health and safety of our dedicated volunteers is of the utmost importance to us and in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are asking our wonderful volunteers to stay home at this time.
We appreciate the support that you all provide on a regular basis and hope to see you again when the time comes. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page (#pdxrestore) and website, pdxrestore.org, for continued updates. We’ll be sure to send an email out when we are able to host volunteers again. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
UPDATED: 3/16/2020 2:45pm
The Gresham ReStore will close at 6pm Monday, March 16. We are also suspending all Salvage Service projects. Staff will be diverted to other ReStore locations in Portland, Beaverton, Gresham and Vancouver, which remain open.
In order to encourage and facilitate social distancing, only credit and debit card transactions will be accepted at the Portland Metro area ReStores, effective immediately.
Dear Habitat for Humanity ReStore supporter,
I am writing to provide an update about the measures the Portland Metro ReStores are taking to protect our donors, shoppers, volunteers and staff during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
These measures are based on guidance from Habitat for Humanity International and local, state and national public health authorities. We are continually monitoring the situation, and our approach may change as new guidance is provided.
Based on the current situation in our area, ReStores in Portland, Beaverton, Gresham and Vancouver will remain open and we will continue to accept and pick up donations.
In following CDC recommendations, we will:
-Increase the frequency of cleaning touched surfaces, such as door handles, cash registers, and countertops
-Practice social distancing of at least 3 feet whenever possible
-Wash hands for at least 20 seconds before logging in to work or volunteer, and after restroom use
While we continue to move forward, we do ask that if you feel unwell or have traveled recently to one of the areas designated by the CDC as level 3 or on a cruise ship, please refrain from visiting a Habitat ReStore.
Similarly, if a member of your household has potentially been exposed to the virus through travel or other means, please seek medical guidance and refrain from participating in any Habitat-related events, including volunteering or shopping in our stores.
We realize your health is your top priority. Should you decide not to volunteer or to cancel a donation pickup as previously planned, please let us know so that we can adjust our schedule accordingly.
Donation pickups: pickups@pdxrestore.org
Volunteers: volunteer@pdxrestore.org
Please know that we are constantly monitoring the situation and will update our plans as new details emerge. Thank you for your continued support as we navigate this public health crisis together.
