About Us

We're happy to meet you!

We're always a bit surprised when we bump into someone who doesn't know The ReStore. That's because we're so jazzed about The ReStore, we think everyone should know about it.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts donated new and used building materials, furniture, appliances, lighting fixtures and other home goods, and we sell them in our stores to raise money for Habitat home-building projects. In fact, this past year we took in 65,960 donations from individuals and business partners.

Our stores in Portland, Gresham, Beaverton and Vancouver  support three Habitat affiliates: Portland/Metro East, Willamette West, and Evergreen. This past year, we raised enough money to build  almost 9 Habitat homes in partnership with low-income families.

The ReStore is also big into reuse. This year our team helped to divert 7,767 tons of reusable materials from landfills--and we're working to improve that number. We earned $148,557 by recycling metal and paint. Our shoppers are some of the most creative on the planet. We love how they re-think, re-imagine and re-invent with used materials. Of course we have to heap praise and appreciation on our generous donors and business partners and our amazing team of over 2,230 volunteers who clocked over 71,000 hours this past year. Together we're helping to make the dream of homeownership a reality for hardworking families right here.

What is The ReStore? We are the home improvement outlet where you'll discover something new (and used) every day.

All Are Welcome

Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East has an open-door policy: All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people. In short, Habitat welcomes homebuyers, volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity and its affiliate organizations will not proselytize. Nor will Habitat work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with Habitat. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
