New Seasons customers will soon be able donate their 5¢ reusable bag credit to a local non-profit. But first they’re putting it to a vote. Through their new “Bag It Forward” program, customers can elect to support a non-profit that embodies one of the three New Seasons tenets: fighting hunger, supporting K-12 schools and promoting environmental conservation.
During the initial vote (primaries, if you will) January 13 – 26, customers shopping at the New Seasons Raleigh Hills, Cedar Hills and 3445 N Williams Ave. locations will find the Habitat for Humanity ReStores on the ballot under environmental conservation.
Finalists in each category/tenet will be announced February 1, then starting February 8, shoppers will receive one coffee bean for every reusable bag filled. By placing the token bean into one of the designated mason jars, customers donate 5¢ to that nonprofit. You can watch the pot grow every time you shop.
