If your preference is for crowbars and dirty dungarees, consider putting your muscle to work with our Salvage Service team. Our crew removes (gently now) used cabinets, appliances, windows, lighting, plumbing – so we can sell them at the Habitat ReStore. It’s dirty work, but it’s nice to know these reusable components are kept out of the landfill and raise money to build affordable, sustainable Habitat homes.
The week of October 9, Salvage Service will be skimming homes in the Lake Oswego and Wilsonville areas. They’ll be harvesting some terrific high-end appliances (think Sub-Zero), a kitchen island, solid doors, full-light insulated french doors, and other great materials that will be delivered to the Gresham and Portland ReStores. We could use some help. Interested? You can register online or contact Mark Pomeroy at markp@pdxrestore.org.
Our Salvage Service team works all year around removing reusable materials indoors and out. If you’re planning a remodel, a demolition…or if you want to volunteer, contact Mark or go to pdxrestore.org/salvage-service.
