Thank you Willamette View for generously donating a wide variety of different furniture, appliances, cabinetry, and more to the ReStores! Your support helps keep reusable materials out of the landfill while making a direct impact in our community. Willamette View is a nonprofit senior community with a focus on ‘inspiring the art of living well’. The community embraces Blue Zone principles such as encouraging natural movement, fostering social engagement, promoting thoughtful nutrition, cultivating purpose and routine, and facilitating stress reduction – but it doesn’t stop there. The community prides itself on efforts to keep the planet just as healthy as the community.
Monique Ziesmer, the Interior Designer & Project Development Coordinator at Willamette View, shared with us why the organization chooses to donate to the Portland Region ReStores.
“Habitat ReStores has been a great resource for helping Willamette View donate to the community over the last decade. We value what Habitat does for the community as we share the same values in keeping our communities happy and healthy while caring for the environment. With constant apartment and campus renovations, we strive to keep things from ending up in the landfill. A few ways we achieve this is by repurposing construction or furniture products or by simply donating to those in need. Habitat ReStores has been a great partner in helping our donated items find the perfect homes.”
Monique also shared why she loves working with the Habitat team.
