Phil Gerigscott

PROUDEST MOMENT: Self-releasing a full-length graphic novel a few years ago was pretty rewarding. But there’s always something in the works.

FUNNY THING ABOUT YOU: The sound of Styrofoam rubbing together is my kryptonite.

FAVORITE CAMPING EXPERIENCE: Hiking to a campsite on Mount Saint Helens in a raincloud and waking up the next morning to an amazing view that we had no idea was surrounding us.

FAVORITE OUTDOOR ACTIVITY: Hiking and beekeeping

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP (if you have!): The Chi Town ‘burbs! (Wheaton, Illinois, to be exact.)

FAVORITE FILM AND WHY: "Moonlight" pretty much had me sobbing—which for me is an indicator of a good movie. But there are too many to just choose one.

FAVORITE BOOK AND WHY: At the moment I’m really enjoying “White Noise” by Don Delillo. But if I hate it by the end, I’ll let you know. Another one of my favorites is “Everything Is Illuminated” by Jonathan Safran Foer.

I LOVE WORKING FOR THE RESTORE BECAUSE.... I meet amazing people, I get to move my body, I get to go vroom vroom on the forklift, and most importantly, I get to help make our environment and communities a more loving place.

IF I COULD CHANGE THE WORLD IT WOULD BE: Avocado trees would be invasive species in every climate (or at least whatever climate I currently live).
