We're happy to meet you!

We're always a bit surprised when we bump into someone who doesn't know The ReStore. That's because we're so jazzed about The ReStore, we think everyone should know about it.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts donated new and used building materials, furniture, appliances, lighting fixtures and other home goods, and we sell them in our stores to raise money for Habitat home-building projects. In fact, this past year we took in 65,960 donations from individuals and business partners.

Our stores in Portland, Gresham, Beaverton and Vancouver  support three Habitat affiliates: Portland/Metro East, Willamette West, and Evergreen. This past year, we raised enough money to build  almost 9 Habitat homes in partnership with low-income families.

The ReStore is also big into reuse. This year our team helped to divert 7,767 tons of reusable materials from landfills--and we're working to improve that number. We earned $148,557 by recycling metal and paint. Our shoppers are some of the most creative on the planet. We love how they re-think, re-imagine and re-invent with used materials. Of course we have to heap praise and appreciation on our generous donors and business partners and our amazing team of over 2,230 volunteers who clocked over 71,000 hours this past year. Together we're helping to make the dream of homeownership a reality for hardworking families right here.

What is The ReStore? We are the home improvement outlet where you'll discover something new (and used) every day.

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge the land we occupy and its original inhabitants, including the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River.

We acknowledge that this land was seized through coercion, dishonesty, and brutality.

We acknowledge the violent history of Euro-American settlement that sought to extinguish indigenous life from this land. We recognize the enduring influence of that history on our region and the nearly 70,000 Native people descended from over 380 tribes living here today.

This land serves all people of different races, ethnic and national backgrounds. We intend to honor the sacrifices of Native peoples by committing ourselves to community justice and equity.

We pay respect to the Native peoples of this land, past and present, offer gratitude to the rivers and forests that nourish our communities, and acknowledge our collective duty as stewards of this land.
